Another big Cub Scout event is scheduled for tomorrow: the Pinewood Derby car race. Unlike the Raingutter Ragatta, Cookie and I got started on our car a few days before the event. (I opened the boat kit about an hour and change before the event -- nto realizing that a hunk of raw wood would require cutting, sanding, painting and decoarating.)

Cookie directed the design. He originally wanted us to re-create a character from the movie Cars, but as we ran the raw block through the miter-saw our car took on its own personality and Cookie went with that.

Who knows, we may even do well in the race.
